Information
about Balgarska Polyana |
|
Bulgarska polyana Bulgaria.
The village Bulgarska polyana is located in the South-Central region of Bulgaria in Haskovo district and Topolovgrad municipality, in the skirts of Sakar Mountain. The village has 228 residents. It has an interesting history- the village was settled in 1596 when a group of Bulgarians living in a village near Sofia killed a Turkish spahi to save a Bulgarian girl and had to run away. After a long chase they settled on the land of Bulgarska polyana and the Turkish people called the village “Gyaur alan”, which means Bulgarska polyana and it kept its name until today. A lot of dolmen and Thracian hills are found near the village. |
